Chief Gregory, Mayor Fraley Speak on Moving Berea Forward with New Chief and City Administrator

In a special called meeting of the Berea City Council last week, Berea Police Department Chief David Gregory was selected to be the next Berea City Administrator, succeeding Randy Stone. Stone and Gregory both have 21 years each serving the city. Ten of these years, according to Gregory, were at the head of the Berea Police Force.

Mayor Bruce Fraley’s recommendation to select Gregory was approved in a 7-0 vote by the council. The administration will finalize the details of Chief Gregory’s contract in the coming days, followed by preparations for a formal swearing/installation ceremony. Both the Mayor and the Chief said that Gregory’s last day will officially be August 19th, and an interim Chief will be named in the meantime as the formal hiring process begins.

Watch the video to see the exclusive interviews with each, and hear their plans moving forward as well as the memories Gregory says he has working with the Berea Police Department.
