Estill County Schools has announced that the school district will be receiving a $4 million U.S. Economic Development Administration Grant. This award will be dedicated to the construction of the Estill County Area Technology Center.
The Estill County Board of Education thanked staff, officials, and local businesses among others for continued support of the project and the EDA grant application process in a press release.
Superintendent Jeff Saylor added that after a quick review by EDA staff, the project will go to bid during August and construction is slated to begin September 15th of 2019.
Saylor states that they anticipate a sixteen-month construction schedule and the Board hopes to open the facility during the spring semester of 2021.
