A Special Farmer’s Market Block Party was held today at the Madison County Health Department Clinic, and WBON-TV was there to find out what makes this farmer’s market so special.
We spoke with Nancy Crewe, the Public Health Director at the Madison County Health Department. Crewe, along with her team, oversaw the event and offered us insight on what this farmer’s market means for the community.
In addition to the music, games, and prizes given out during the event; WIC-approved vendors were there with fresh and healthy options for meals. The Madison County Schools Street Eatz bus was also at the Block Party.
The event, which was open to the general public, also offered an opportunity to meet with members from the Richmond Police Department.
“We are thankful for our community partners,” said Crewe. “It brings people together.”
