Integral and shocking details regarding how officers discovered the body of Savannah Spurlock were revealed in court this morning. The man accused of hiding Spurlock, the previously missing mother of four from Richmond’s remains, appeared in Garrard County for a preliminary hearing.
Although there is no cause of death officially released at this time, grisly details were discussed in the courtroom.
David sparks was arrested early Thursday morning following a tip which led investigators to the home in Garrard county near where she was last seen. Human remains were discovered on the property that had previously been searched in relation to the case, which were later identified as missing Savannah Spurlock.
Sparks was taken into custody and charged with tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse. Authorities said in court today that Spurlocks’s nude body was discovered in a 19-inch deep grave with her feet bound with tape, in multiple black trash bags.
Additionally, blood belonging to Spurlock was, according to officers, found inside a closet door at a Fall Lick Court rental home. A not guilty plea was entered for Sparks during his arraignment last week, and a judge appointed a public defender for him. The case remains under investigation.
