Richmond Police and KSP were confirmed to have set up a crime scene perimeter near the site of missing mother of four Savannah Spurlock’s last known location in Garrard County.
Beginning at around 5 p.m. last night, an investigation began; stemming from a tip regarding a foul smell which resulted in the coroner, FBI, KSP, and RPD at the home on Fall Lick Road. This investigation led to the eventual discovery of human remains on the property.
The home is reportedly that of the parents of one of the suspects that had been previously questioned by police. This home, along with one on Price Hill Court in Lancaster had also been searched to no avail in the months following Spurlock’s disappearance.
Kentucky State Police adds that there is no positive identity of these remains as Spurlock due to the timeline since she has been missing.
The remains were sent to Frankfort for an autopsy around 1 a.m. last night when the scene at the home was cleared. Investigators were seen carrying a large box from the home, as well as paper bags after a search warrant was granted.
An arrest has been made after questioning of suspects. According to officials, 24 year old David Sparks of Lancaster has been detained on charges of abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence. He is lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
