Richmond Passes Annual Budget with Increased Funding for Soccer Field Renovations, Employees Receive Raise


Richmond has passed its annual budget and has doubled the funding for renovating soccer fields in the city from twenty thousand to forty thousand. In addition, there is funding for Millstone Park, the new park that is located between Water St. and Main St. There will also be an all inclusive playground which is expected to open later in the year.

City Manager Rob Minerich said that he feels that this year’s budget has met the requests from departments to allow them to better service the citizens of Richmond. City employees will also be receiving a four percent raise.

Lastly, the city will be opening up bidding to allow a second cable franchise in the city. The added competition is expected to reduce cable costs for citizens and allow them to receive better service.
