Identity Released of Elderly Man Killed in Early Morning Madison County Crash


The identity of the victim that was killed in the early morning crash in Madison County on 421 has now been released. He has been identified as 72-year-old Norbert Wagner from waco.

Coroner Jimmy Cornelison gives us all the details in this interview you can watch here, including that he believes there was no substances involved as Wagner was on his way to work in Jackson County, and had spoken to his wife before he left on time for work.

Reports of a fatal accident on 421 South, north of Big Hill at the 4.8 milemarker.

The road is now reopened between the 1016 split and 21 to the south.

The Coroner spoke with WBONtv regarding the fatal wreck on 421 this morning at 7482 Battlefield Memorial Highway:

He reports that a 72-year-old male subject was ejected and had been at the scene of his overturned vehicle in a field for quite some time before he was able to be seen by the light of day.

Time of death possibly around 5:30 a.m. according to the coroner, but he arrived on scene at 7:00 a.m, where the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Identity is not released at this time pending notification of family.
