Kentucky State Police report responding to a call over the weekend to a crashed motor vehicle on the interstate that was unoccupied when they arrived on scene.
Following a call from a resident on McCord Lane reporting an intoxicated individual at their residence, troopers arrived on scene and report observing the subject, 24 year old Canon Ruble walking away from the residence.
Ruble was commanded to stop according to authorities, but insisted on walking away from the officers. In an attempt to flee from officers, Ruble allegedly jumped into a pond and began swimming just moments before he was apprehended by Kentucky State Police.
After exiting the pond, police report Ruble advising officials that he was the one involved in the accident on the interstate. According to reports Ruble also admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine prior to the collision.
A total of 9 charges were given to Ruble with the major infractions consisting of leaving the scene of an accident, fleeing from police and a DUI. Ruble was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
