KSP To Announce New Sexual Assault Case Technology


Kentucky has developed a new way to process rape kit DNA and is the first in the country to use this technology.

Gov. Matt Bevin, KSP Commissioner Rick Sanders, and Justice Secretary John Tilley will be making the announcement at the KSP Central Forensic Laboratory in Frankfort on Wednesday.

Kentucky State Police announced on their Facebook page that they will also make a live announcement regarding the technological advancement.

The DNA technology tool is developed for the testing of sexual assault evidence kits and can lead to identification of suspects within hours.
