Madison County Sheriff’s Office Explains Newest Round of Scams

The Madison County sheriff’s office has recently reported receiving calls relating to a jury scam. According to officials and recent victims of the scam, they received calls of people posing as officers from a court.

The scammers claim that the person did not show up for jury duty and that charges will then be pressed. The calls even show that they are coming from the madison county sheriff’s office, and are threatening in nature, saying that fines need to be paid to remedy the situation.

The madison county sheriff’s office reiterates to the public that they will never contact you asking for payment for jury duty. They urge to not send any form of payment and to not engage with the scammers. Watch the interview here with Deputy Jennifer Kermeen who gives us all the details.
