Democratic Candidate for Governor Geoff Young is no stranger to running for office: he previously ran for Governor in 2015, as well as in the nationwide race for 6th District Congressman.
He is seeking election again, first in the primary this May in the Democratic race for Governor of Kentucky. He sat down with Marisa Hempel and talked of his background and platform for a two minute sit-down. After getting a Bachelor’s MIT and a Master’s degree, Young moved to the Commonwealth and gained another Masters here in Kentucky in Agricultural Economics.
Young says that he believes in fellow candidate Rocky Adkins, but admonishes the others running, including incumbent Matt Bevin. Young cites the last election, and says that election fraud that he endured has resulted in him filing a lawsuit.
When it comes to policy, Young says that he is strong when it comes to foreign policy, and says that he can bring Kentucky to the forefront in this realm.
He also discussed the plight that unions have faced in recent years, and said that the attack on union workers in Kentucky is immoral.
When it comes to fighting the drug epidemic, Young added that legalizing all forms of cannabis would be a step in the right direction.
