How Local Potters Can Help Fight Hunger

The Empty Bowls Project has been an annual event in Richmond for twenty two years. Local potters and students at EKU team up to make handcrafted bowls. The bowls are gathered for a homemade soup dinner. Bowls are still needed, so local potters can call the First Baptist Church at 859-623-4028 to donate.

A minimum of twelve dollars is required for the soup and you get a hand crafted bowl to take home. The event will be held on Friday, April 12th at the First Baptist Church located at 425 Eastern Bypass. A lunch will be held from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. and a dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 P.M. Funds raised by the event go to God’s Outreach Community Food Bank, Richmond Food Bank, Home Meals Delivery, and the Salvation Army of Madison County.
