Isaiah Cozart Named Gatorade Player Of The Year In Kentucky


Madison Central big man Isaiah Cozart was named Kentucky Gatorade Player Of The Year over the weekend. Cozart was also a finalist for Mr. Basketball this season as well.

Isaiah averaged 20 points a game this season for the Indians while grabbing 12.2 rebounds a contest. He also averaged 5.8 blocks a game. He leaves Madison Central as the state’s all time leading shot blocker with 716 in his career. He scored 1575 career points and had 1268 rebounds in his elite career.

While he excelled on the court he maintained a weighted 3.23 GPA in the classroom proving that he is the definition of a student athlete.

In a statement Cozart had this to say,
“Would like to say a special thank you to Gatorade for selecting me for Gatorade Player of the Year for Kentucky. I also want to give a shoutout to my coaches at my high school for helping me get this far and my family for supporting me all throughout my career. I am truly blessed”

Cozart has signed with Western Kentucky to play basketball this fall.
