Have you Registered Your Emergency Contact with your License Yet?


The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has teamed up with the Kentucky State Police and Department of Criminal Justice Training to launch a new online service that allows state license, permit, and ID holders to designate a preferred contact law enforcement can notify in the event the cardholder is involved in a vehicle crash or emergency situation.

We spoke to the Executive Director for the Office of Public Affairs with the KYTC Naitore Djigbenou who filled us in on why this is so important as well as how easily it is for those with a license to sign up. Djigbenou stresses that this is just another layer of protection in case of an emergency, and the information will only be accessible to first responders or law enforcement officials.

She also gave us information on the new rollout for Kentucky licenses and credentials, which starts this spring and will take effect in all 120 counties by June.
