Identity of Suspect Who Cut Man’s Neck in Berea Released, in Custody


The name of the suspect who allegedly cut a man on the neck and assaulted him in Berea at Circle K Friday night has been released.

According to Berea Police, 20 year old Caleb Hendrickson was charged with 1st degree assault after he allegedly cut the victim following an altercation in the gas station parking lot on Glades road.

Police report that Hendrickson had fled the scene but they were able to locate him at his home in Berea. The victim had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for neck stab wounds.

In an interview with officials, Hendrickson claimed that he was at Circle K with his girlfriend when the victim honked his horn at him as he was walking in the parking lot. Hendrickson also stated that the victim yelled at him. After exchanging words, he grabbed the victim and started to fight him.

The victim pulled out a knife but Hendrickson took it from him and continued on punching the victim while the knife was in his hand. He admitted that he had had cut the victim. Hendrickson stated that he threw the knife he had used to cut the victim out the window in to a field past Silver Creek Elementary School.

Hendrickson was taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
