4th Female Overdoses in Madison County Jail

According to Jailer Steve Tussey, around 2 am on Saturday another overdose occurred within the confines of the Madison County Detention Center.

Although Jailer Tussey could not confirm that this is related to last week’s overdoses, but there is still an active investigation to garner more information. He adds that they are still working hard to pinpoint an exact source.

Tussey released that it was in fact a female that overdosed, and she did have to have Narcan administered. However, she did not lose a pulse as two of the women did previously from the overdoses last Wednesday night. The woman was transported to the hospital for care, and then released to the detention center.

Tussey says he has plans to look into all avenues to thwart any drugs coming into the jail, however body scanners are a pricey fix. However, he says he will be brining ideas to the Madison County Fiscal Court in the near future.
