Tomorrow at the Madison County Fairgrounds, the annual Hay auction will be taking place. However, many may not be aware that there was a record breaking hay shortage this year, due to the large amounts of rain this past year.
We spoke to the sales manager Chuck Givens, who says there will be a premium on all bales because of this shortage, and that you better get there early tomorrow if you want to score some hay. We also learned that this shortage does have implications on beef and milk prices here in Kentucky as well.
Givens says to get at the Madison County Fairgrounds by 10 am tomorrow if you need bales for your livestock or farm as there are not many to go around.
