On early Thursday morning, a family of four was taken to the hospital after their home caught fire.
The family of four- two adults, and two children- were inside the mobile home at the time the fire started.
The incident happened around 12:30 A.M. on Foster Branch Road in Jeffersonville.
Reports say that when the smoke detector went off, it woke the mother up. She had to “pass through flames” to get to her children’s bedroom and quickly took them outside. She then went back in to get her husband. All were outside when firefighters arrived.
The family was taken to UK Hospital by ambulance and one adult had to be airlifted to the hospital.
The Fire Battalion Chief cited smoke inhalation and airway burn as the only two injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
