Representative Robert Goforth Confirms Governor’s Bid at Press Conference

Update: After some speculation, it was officially announced this morning that State Representative Robert Goforth will run for governor during a press conference in London. Goforth represents the 89th district that includes Jackson, Laurel, and parts of Madison counties. He will be seeking election on the republican ticket with Mike Hogan as his running mate. Goforth will now be facing current Governor Matt Bevin in the Republican primary.

Although nothing is confirmed yet, there are a few clues that seem to point towards that fact that Representative for the 89th District Robert Goforth, whose area covers Jackson, Laurel, and parts of Madison Counties, will throw his hat in the ring for the Republican run for Governor.

The first hint: his website seems to have undergone some changes…including this quote: “Dr. Robert Goforth is running for Kentucky’s Governor because he wants to give back to the state and the people that helped him be successful in life,”

An official announcement will come tomorrow, January 8th at 9am
