For the first time ever, the Estill County Animal Shelter has imposed a free adoption day through tomorrow for all cats and dogs.
Director Tommy Mullen says they got the clearance from the Fiscal Court for Estill County, so that they can avoid a euthanization date, as they have had to mandate in the past.
Mullen says they have not, however, had to put any animal down since 2015.
He says to come down and all you have to do is sign for the furry friend to take home.
There are currently 11 dogs left in the shelter that need homes before the new year, and a handful of kitties to choose from. Visit the shelter on Ginter Lane off Cow Creek in Ravenna through tomorrow afternoon to take advantage of this first-time ever deal.
