WBON tv followed up to a story we brought you this past summer, concerning a bridge closure at Tates Creek Road and Long Branch in Northern Madison County. The bridge, which had been out of service since April, opened for traffic on Saturday. Residents in the area were very happy to again be able to travel along Tates Creek without using the 18-mile detour. We talked to a long-time resident, Roger Rhodus, about the effects of the closure on the community. Rhodus said that residents of the area were happy to see the bridge open and many expressed their excitement by honking and cheering as they drove over the new bridge for the first time.
