Veterans Share About Their Time in the Military And More in Honor of Veterans Day

With Veterans Day this Sunday, we went to Richmond’s local American Legion post to sit down with some local vets.  Air Force veteran Pete Schmidt told us that Veterans Day gives him a feeling of pride in knowing that he served his country.  Ray Karnes who served in the Air Force and fought in the Korean Conflict told us its not about the celebrations but honoring the veterans who didn’t get to come home. He went on to say how it was everyday normal people who gave up everything for our rights.  Army veteran Darryle Endfinger said that everyday is Veterans Day to him because the sacrifices that were made and will be made in the future that allow us to be free and that we should always keep veterans in mind. Army veteran George McMakin said that being a veteran is like being in a family despite being from different backgrounds or race. And remember to honor veterans this Sunday
