Madison Central (7-3) had won four consecutive games heading in to the final regular season game at Bryan Station. They went undefeated in district play and won the district for the first time since 2013. Against Bryan Station who is coached by former Indian Frank Parks they ran into one of most exciting players in central Kentucky.
Last week the Indians fell 41-21 in Lexington. They rush for 165 yards as a team with Freddy Chenault gaining 124 of those yards and scoring a TD. Ethan Hahn also scored a TD on the ground. Derrick Miller struggled finding his rhythm passing for 4-14 for only 49 yards. Ethan Hahn added a touchdown on a return but it wasn’t enough to overcome Station. The Defenders won the previous week against Dunbar and with the win over Central they are riding a two game winning streak. Jalen Burbage led the way for Station with 323 yards rushing and he passed for 112 yards. He scored three times on the ground.
The Indians host Seneca in the opening round. The Redhawks are 0-10 on the season and have managed to only score 50 points on the season. On paper this game looks like a one-sided affair but as any coach will tell you anything can happen once the game starts. Look for Madison Central to get their offense going early and try to take control of the game. Seneca has been shutout four times but they scored a season high 14 points last week. Should the Indians they will host another playoff game against either Tates Creek or Ryle.
