Indian big man Isaiah Cozart announced his commitment to Western Kentucky this weekend after receiving an offer this week and attending their open practice Saturday. He chose Western Kentucky over a host of schools including Eastern Kentucky, Wofford, High Point, Belmont, and others.
Cozart will be entering his senior season as the second leading shot blocker in the state history, he sits at 535 career blocks only 6 behind JR Vanhoose for the all-time spot. During his time at Central he has averaged 18.8 points a game, 9.2 rebounds a game, and 5.5 blocks per game. He is only 64 points from 1000 in his career and 107 rebounds from eclipsing 1000 rebounds for a career as well. Last season as a junior he had 216 blocks setting the single season record, as a sophomore he blocked 16 shots 3 times in a game.
Since getting the job at Western Kentucky Rick Stansbury has landed some big recruits including another player from the 11th region Taveion Hollingsworth from Paul Lawrence Dunbar. Under the guidance of Coach Stanbury Hollingsworth has become one of the top players in the Conference USA. Coach Stansbury has found another gem in Cozart who is the preseason 2nd rated player in the loaded 11th region and one of the top players overall in the state.
