The Indians (6-2) Friday night will be looking for a district championship when the host Clark County (6-2). Both teams are 2-0 in district play and this game means more than just a trophy to put in the trophy case, it comes with an opportunity to host a pair of playoff games.
Last week Madison Central found themselves in a back and forth match up with Lafayette on the road. QB Derrick Miller was 8-13 passing the ball for 129 yards and he added 11 yards on the ground. Freddy Chenault had 78 yards rushing and a TD while Ethan Hahn added 35 yards. Hahn also caught two passes for 13 yards. Jarrett Mullins led the Indians in receiving with 71 yards on 2 receptions. Blake Muntz caught two passes for 37 yards and on a trick play he threw an interception that the Generals returned for a touchdown. Not to be outdone Ethan Hahn picked off a General’s pass and returned it 27 yards for a score. Indians had 3 interceptions with Kenton Humphrey picking two of them. Indians won 25-17.
Last week Clark County was also on the road at Tates Creek winning 30-12. The Cardinals were led by Will Henry who only completed 5 of his pass attempts going 5-19 for 119 yards but he tossed two TDS. Nitavius Thomas led the rushing attack with 101 and a score. Azariah Isreal had 83 yards rushing and he caught 2 passes for 52 yards and a touchdown. On the season Thomas has rushed for 1118 yards and 16 touchdowns. Defensively the Cardinals stay in the opposing teams backfield. Through 8 games they have registered 31 sacks, Jehdon Jenkins has 11 of them.
