Madison County Judge Executive Regan Taylor announced today that the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has finalized arrangements to bid the Exit 95 Interstate Exchange project for January 2019. Taylor says he has been consistently in contact with the Transportation Cabinet staff about the importance of getting the interstate exchange repaired. He adds that this is a critical location for commerce, economic development, residential and educational infrastructure for our County. Taylor says the poor design has been blocking opportunities for the county to move forward, so this is a win for Madison Countians.
The intersection of Colonel Road and Simpson Lane will be moved approximately 800 feet west of the current road location, with new signals installed at the intersection. According to the Transportation Cabinet, the project will go to bid in January 2019 and is estimated to take a year and a half to complete. The estimated cost of the project will be $10,400,000.
Madison County Government will continue to update citizens as information becomes available.
