Madison Southern Travels To Anderson County For Big District Game


Madison Southern (2-6 1-1) went to Woodford County last week and came away with a 55-41 win on the road. This week the Eagles will travel to Anderson County who are ranked number 6 in Class 5A. This will be the 6th ranked opponent they will play this season.

Last week in Versailles the Eagles put their rushing attack on display rushing for 396 yards as a team. Alex Knuckles had 175 yard on 11 carries and he scored 5 times. Tobias Storm had 188 yards on the ground and he threw for 75 more. Both of his completions were touchdowns, one to Jayshaun Ethridge for 45 yards and the other going to Walt Smith for 30 yards. On the year Storm has passed for 715 yards and 10 TDs. He has done the most damage using his legs running for 821 yards and three scores. Alex Knuckles has rushed for 534 yards on the year and 10 scores. He also leads the defense with 72 tackles including 17 last week.

Anderson County (6-0 2-0) comes into the game off a 42-34 win at Montgomery County. The Bearcats like to run the ball, 2186 total rushing on the season, and are led by a pair of talented tailbacks. Charles Collins, who played at Montgomery County last season, leads them in rushing. He has 965 yards and 15 TDS. Brennan Maxberry adds 632 yards and 5 scores. Jagger Willis is the quarterback, he only attempted 9 passes last week going 3-9 for 48 yards. He threw a TD and a pick. On the year he has passed for 12 touchdowns and only 1 interception. His top target is Collins who has caught 14 passes for 367 yards and 5 touchdowns.
