Former Estill Soccer Coach Indicted, Jailed After Turning Himself In


New today: Andrew Hatton, the former High School girls’ Soccer coach from Estill County High School, was served with an indictment warrant today.

According to officials, he came to MCDC and turned himself in last night.

He was temporarily lodged in the Madison County Detention Center, but has since been moved to Three Forks Regional Detention Center after stopping in Estill County. Hatton had been on home incarceration since his arrest back in August.

The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was contacted on Sunday, August 12, 2018, and notified of a possible incident involving an employee of the Estill County School system and a female student.

The initial investigation alleges that Andrew Hatton sent multiple female students nude and sexually explicit photographs, and a video through the social media application Snapchat. As a result of the ongoing investigation, Andrew J. Hatton, 28 years old of Irvine, was arrested this afternoon in Richmond and is lodged in the Madison County Detention Center charged with five counts of Rape 3rd Degree, two counts of Prohibited Use of Electronic Communication Device to Procure a Minor, two counts of Possession of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance By a Minor, and three counts of Distribution of Obscene Matter to a Minor.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 7 Detective Charles Brandenburg.
