Candidate for Richmond City Commission David Johnson still considers himself relatively new to Richmond, as he spent most of his life in Berea. However, he ensures that he instantly got actively involved with his community, including delivering meals to the elderly in town for volunteer work, and being actively involved with the Richmond Human Rights Commission.
In addition, Johnson says his time as an intern with the City of Berea adequately prepared him for a spot in city government, as he got to see the inner workings of city hall in that time.
Some of the topics mentioned during his two minute sitdown were the city manager position, which the current city commission is working to fill.
He also touched on taxes and the drug epidemic, to which he said that the ideas from the county fiscal court could be implemented and a collaborative effort between all local governments would have the most impact.
