Every three years, the Madison County fiscal court works to safely dispose of most tires that would otherwise be sitting in backyards or in driveways.
We spoke to Director Scott Tussey, who said that you can either drop off your tires at the State Highway Road Department in Richmond at 2441 Lexington Road, or you can take them to Berea Public Works for proper disposal.
The service is free, and Tussey says in past years they have seen tens of thousands of tires brought to them where the volunteer-driven event sees that they are properly disposed of.
