Historic Boone’s Gap in Need of Cleanup Volunteers this Sunday!

A historic plot of land on the Rockcastle/Madison County line is in need of a bit of a cleanup, and the Friends of Boone Trace group are asking for the public’s help in achieving this goal.

Boone’s Gap has recently had some road work, and as a result there are some branches and trash that need picked up to preserve the historic integrity of the ground where Daniel Boone himself walked.

WBONtv’s Marisa Hempel went down the the site to speak to Friends of Boone Trace President Dr. John Fox and Berea City Councilman and member of the group Bruce Fraley, who said that the cleanup will take place this Sunday, beginning at 10 AM. All are welcome to attend, and can stop by the site off of US 25 on the county line at any point.
