A whopping 16,000 pounds of food was donated to local food banks after the conclusion of the second annual battle of the banks here in Madison county. A good portion of local bank branches in both Richmond and Berea fought it out for the good cause. The winner, who compiled over 2,800 pounds alone, was People’s Bank main Branch in Berea.
WBONTV spoke to Branch Manager Heather Resor of Park Community Federal Credit Union in Richmond by Gibson Bay. Resor said they were all shocked at the outpouring of support and huge amounts of donations, which will all stay here in the county at two local foodbanks.

Resor says that although it was a battle, it was all in good fun, and they hope to get even more branches involved before next year’s fundraiser.
