Police Raise The Roof In Richmond

By: Lance Gaither

On Friday members of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Richmond Police Department were on the roof of the Dunkin’ Donuts off the bypass. The Richmond Fire Department helped the police onto the roof for the event, in order to raise money for the Kentucky Special Olympics.

The cops on the roof program is held by Dunkin’ Donuts nationwide as a collaboration to raise awareness for the Special Olympics.  The Richmond Police Department in particular has a close relationship with the Special Olympics and and holds several awareness events and fundraisers each year.  An upcoming event that the Richmond Police Department is participating is a torch run from Frankfort to Richmond in which a torch is being ran for between the cities.
