Manhunt Continues After Shootout with KSP


The manhunt for the Jackson County man wanted in connection with a double murder continues, after a shootout with Kentucky State Police yesterday. According to a release from KSP Post 7, the post had received a tip that the wanted man, 41 year old Terry Hammonds, was possible in a wooded area of Jackson County on an ATV. Shots where exchanged when troopers arrived, and the man matching Hammonds description then ran off into the woods.

After a thorough search, he was unable to be found by officers. Troopers report that there were no injuries on their end, and it is unknown if the suspect was shot at. Hammonds is wanted for the December deaths of Joey Marcum and Whitney Venable, who had been found deceased in a burned vehicle in a remote area of Jackson County. Bobby Hammonds has already been arrested as a result of the investigation, and charged with two counts of murder.
