Madison County Schools Discuss Protocol for School Security and Next Actions

After the threat at Madison Southern High School this week was deemed a rumor, school officials in the county are still making sure all bases are covered when it comes to student safety.

Chief Operating Officer for Madison County Schools Randy Neeley says that the district has been in meetings with not just law enforcement all week, but public officials to look at all options to ensure that kids in all schools are safe.

Neeley explains that everything from metal detectors to banning backpacks are being discussed as options to tighten security across all schools in the district, and that cost is not a factor in order to make sure that kids are safer when they attend school.

He also lists the current policies and procedures in place that parents and guardians should be aware of.
