Kit Carson Elementary School has implemented a system to bring the classroom to parents. Teachers can now record their lessons to not only allow students to go over material a second time, but also to give parents the ability to see what their child is learning.
According to Principal Ken Clark of the school, this allows the parent to better understand what their child is learning and makes helping them with homework easier, especially with the recent influx of NTI days with the winter weather. The system is part of the Google educational suite which the school began using last year. The teachers can film their lessons with a handheld camera, and then the videos are uploaded to Youtube once a waiver is signed by legal guardians. These videos can then be accessed at any time at the school’s channel.
Kit Carson Elementary principal Ken Clark gives WBON-TV the details about the new system and why they use it.
