After close to a decade of service to the Richmond community and local artists, Executive Director of the RAAC Deborah Kidd will be retiring effective this Wednesday. Kidd says she will not stray far from the arts or the RAAC, however, but that she wants to volunteer and travel with her husband, who she recently married late last year.
Kidd commented that friends made through the arts are for life, and she thanked all those in the community that she has connected with in her time with the Arts Council. She also noted local elected officials, the board at the RAAC, and business partnerships that she says had a sizeable role in keeping the arts alive and well in Richmond.
There is no one set to take Kidd’s place as of yet, she added, but that the Arts Council will continue to thrive and serve the Richmond community.
