#5 Jordan Sandefur sets county record for points scored
Jordan Sandefur who had played varsity basketball since she was a 7th grader knew at an early age she wanted to do special things on the court. She recalled in middle school seeing the all-time records in the gym with Trina Goodrich name on top as the all-time scorer at Berea Community. She told her mom she was going to be on top one day. Since being a varsity player she played for seven different head coaches. That is so tough on any player but she took in stride and done what she always did, she found the basket. She set the Berea record in late December and passed Bri Lanham for 2nd place in the county at the end of January. With the winter some games were cancelled and and not made up so the prospect of eclipsing the record was iffy. The record was held by former
Madison Central Lady Indian Olivia Terry at 2467 points. It took the final game of the season for Jordan to set the record, she needed 17 points to set a new record in the opening round of district play and she got 20. She now holds the record at 2470 points. She signed with Union College and will be majoring in nursing.
