Suspects In Shooting Death Of Officer Have Court Appearance

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The two remaining suspects charged with the murder of Richmond police officer Daniel Ellis appeared in Madison Circuit Court today.

The last time Raleigh Sizemore and Gregory Ratliff were in court, their attorneys argued they should be tried elsewhere and hired professional pollsters to see if there would be enough impartial people in Fayette and Madison counties to seat a jury.

A judge said today he will hear final arguments for a change of venue at the end of January.

Two other individuals, Carl Banks and Rita Creech, have already pleaded guilty to multiple charges in connection with the robbery that Ellis was investigating.
