Health Department Debunks Flu Season Falsities


At this time last year, unseasonably early cases of the influenza virus were beginning to crop up. Madison County Health Department Officials say their fingers are crossed that this year will not be a repeat, but they are still gearing up for the colder months when the virus is more prevalent.

To prep for the flu coming to the area once again, the Health Department explained that their training sessions are beginning to get all staff ready to offer vaccinations, which they reiterate are the most surefire way to protect yourself this year.

Public Information Officer for the Health Department Jim Thacker also debunked some influenza myths, and gives advice for any and all issues you and your family may experience when the bugs start going around.
