Lancaster Man Arrested


Kentucky State Police arrested a Nicholas Edward Smith, 32, Lancaster, on Tuesday on a Madison County warrant for first-degree rape. According to the warrant, on July 25, Nicholas Edward Smith contacted a 16-year-old female victim, sending her texts saying he fantasized about her and needed to see her. Nicholas Edward Smith indicated to the female that they meet at a restaurant in Berea.  Smith and the female victim met at approximately 1:15a.

According to the Madison County Detention website charges were:  Custodial Interference, Rape 1st degree, Sexual Abuse 1st degree and Prohibited Use of Electronic Communication System to Procure a Minor/Police Officer for Sex
