Dupree Hall on Eastern Kentucky University’s campus is in the process of being torn down, beginning today with the large wrecking ball you see in the video. The old dorm facility for fraternities in the heart of campus is torn down as a part of campus revitalization efforts. Todd hall, which housed sorority students and stands directly adjacent to Dupree, will be next for demolition.
Dupree and Todd halls, which opened in 1964, stand at 11 stories and housed approximately 340 students each.
A new recreation center will be built on the sites of Dupree and Todd halls as part of the University’s ongoing construction projects.
